Getting Organised

The last few days have been anything but dull. The weather is wet and cold with occassional sunshine, so, I've been on the back porch sampling home brewed beer in the afternoons when the sunshine is about.
My recently made Coopers Pale ale and a Cascade Porter have been scrutinized in great detail and both have turned out to be good beers. I'm onto my 80 th brew so I must have it weighed off by now.
Other than that, I've been compiling a "to-do" list and organising paying loans off now that my pay out is in the bank. There won't be too much left after paying off the house and car, but we will be almost debt free for the first time in my life.
Next has been the task of searching for a video camera to buy to record our planned train trip down the east coast of Australia. I've short listed the Panasonic GS 400 or that fancy JVC MC 500 with a micro hard drive. They are both 3CCD cameras and have half decent stills capability.

I used to go on holidays with a ton of photo gear including 2 Mamiya 645 bodies with the full range of lenses, 4 SLR bodies with lens ranging from 24mm through to 600mm and all the stuff in between, like tripods, flashes, filters and the like. This wasn't an option this time around, as our initial transport is by air.
This trip will be with a Nikon D70, a Nikon 8400 coolpix, video cam and ASUS Laptop. If I can't get a good coverage with that lot theres something wrong.
I'll sign off now and get another cup of coffee going.....it's cold.......
