The New Life

Day one.

Everyday is a Saturday for me, for the time being.
I had a job for 8 years and now it's gone, thanks to global rationalisation.
I'm not sad because we( all 680 of us) have known of it's coming for many months. But, that being said, it's hard to digest.
Theres plenty of work out there, as many who have left recently have discovered, but the comfort zone has crashed and you feel like your lost in a room full of mirrors.
The coming days will be interesting.

The company has been good in helping us to resettle. I've chosen to take a course in Artistic Blacksmithing. It just sounded right and better than truck driving, Sales work or more factory work(Yuk!). The details haven't been worked out yet with the college but that will happen in a few weeks.
Firstly though, my wife and I are going on a holiday to Cairns and travel first class by rail down the east coast of Australia back to Adelaide, stopping off in Grafton NSW to see the in laws. It should take a couple of weeks and I am going to attempt to compile a photo story of the trip.
I have to stay focussed and have targets and some sort of routine. I like routine.
Whether I can maintain a routine is something for the future but staring a four walls isn't my idea of fun.
