Late July 2008
It's been wet and cold this month and last. We haven't broken any rainfall records, but the garden looks great. We bought a polyhouse for seed germination and tomato growing. It is quite toasty and humid.
I have managed to put down a few brews in the brewery and have enough for the next few months.
Blacksmithing
Blacksmithing has been fairly quiet. I have done a little art design and have materials prepared and ready to go.
I have been helping a friend out who had a commission to make an aboriginal totem stand for a local school in her area. I prepared the drawings for the laser cutting and helped weld up the structure for installation in the ground. It turned out very well and was a hit with the customer.

I did manage to get a few things made for home, I finished off the coat rack and made a large spice rack, cupboard and drawer handles and a utensil rack for the spoons and egg flippers etc.

The other big event this last few days, is the purchase of a new small car for Jen to get to work and for us to go on our big drive holiday in October. The car is a Mitsubishi Colt, and gets very good mileage. Hopefully save our finances and the planet at the same time.

In other news, my sister has got herself married at the young tender age of 60. It was a nice ceremony at the Registry office in town, followed by a nice meal at an Italian restaurant.
Jen and I are looking forward to our trip and are in the process of planning and budgeting.
Chris and myself have another Sunday lined up for Angaston forge. Hopefully, one of our colleagues will come along for the day and help out.
As always, it's always good to catch up with the crew at Angaston.
